My name is Rachel, and I'm a writer. I'm an aunt, love my friends and family, and work in a university library, in the Interlibrary Loan department. Last fall, I started my Master's in Information Science degree online with FSU. This coming May, I turn 30, which is bizarre, but kind of cool.
I love love love to read and write. I read mostly fantasy, manga and fanfic. I write fantasy and fanfic. 2007 was the second year I "won" NaNoWriMo, which means the second year I've written a 50,000 word story in 30 days. This year, this story, I hope to complete and get published.
My main fandom is Harry Potter, particularly Harry/Draco. Other pairings I like are Sirius/Remus, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Snape, Snape/Hermione, Ginny/Blaise, Ginny/Luna. Shit. Bandom has stolen my soul. My soul, I tell you! My new main fandom is bandom, specifically: My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is..., and Cobra Starship. There are other bands I love, but those are the ones I indulge in in the "fandom" atmosphere most. I won't even get into pairings...
Anyway, music has always been a huge part of my life. I've been to more concerts than I can remember (although not as many as some!), although those were almost all with my parents (when I was leetle) or my ex. Recently I was lucky enough to find a concert-going buddy, so things are getting exciting again! I listen to lots of different kinds of music, although I tend to avoid death metal, rap, and gospel. While I have firm opinions on many political, religious and philosophical points, I'm not afraid to listen to the perspectives of others. Although, honestly, I pretty much avoid political discussions nowadays, since I mostly hate them. I am, however, a firm advocate of gay rights. I don't hate those who disagree with me, but I will argue (mostly politely) if the subject comes up. Haters of any sort will be dealt with nicely, at first, but will be ignored and mocked if they continue.
I have a graphics journal, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) bcktowonderland. So far I've posted Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman, and My Chemical Romance graphics. There will be more, eventually.
